P90X Lean Program Done

P90X Lean Program Done!!!

I can finally say I have finished the Lean Program!!!  Last night I did my Cardio X and today I did Yoga X.  Tomorrow is rest day and the Last day of this program!!!!  Whoohoo!!!

I have definitely noticed a change in how I feel and how much more I am able to do.  In the beginning of these workouts I could barely do the exercises and now I can do them all with ease.

I have noticed a difference in the way my clothes fit especially in the mid section.  My measurements are basically the same as the October 16th post. I just needed to finish the program.

I now will continue on and go into the Classic Version of P90X which I know will be more work.  This Classic Version includes Plyometrics which is definitely harder than the Cardio X workout.

Like I’ve said before this is a “Lifestyle Change” for me so, I will continue to press play.
I may miss a day here or there but I’ll just continue on where I left off.

A lot of people start P90X and say it’s too hard or miss days and quit.  You’d be amazed what our bodies can do over time with persistence.  Anything is possible.

Have a Wonderful Sunday!!

P90X day 88

Well I’ve definitely be slacking near the end here.  I’ve been spending a lot of time with friends and family and by the time the day is over and I’ve been too tired to work out.  But I haven’t quit I just missed a couple days.

We went to the Texas State Fair on Thursday and had friends over for dinner on Friday night.  As crazy as it sounds I hit play at 10:30 Friday night and did my Kenpo X.  I didn’t have to work today so, right after the Kenpo I did the Stretch X workout.  I went to bed feeling great and glad I got those workouts in.

Tonight I will be doing Cardio X and some time tomorrow will be my Last Yoga X for the Lean Program.  So Tomorrow I will be done with my 90 day, P90X Lean Program, Journey!!!! Whoohoo!!!

I plan on moving right into the Classic Version which will be harder.  I am glad I did the Lean Version first to prepare me for the Classic.

I can’t say my diet has been great.  So I’m going to work harder on that during these 90 days.  I’m not trying to lose a whole lot of weight.  I’m just want to tone and I know clean eating has a lot to do with that.

I have become a Coach so if anyone is interested in shakeology, working out or just needing incentive you can email me at andersons7777@yahoo.com.

P90X five more days

Yoga and Core Synergistics done!!! I did my Yoga X last night and Core tonight.  I am so anxious to start this next version of P90X, which is the Classic Version.  I miss the Leg and back workout which I haven’t done in six weeks.  The  Kenpo, Cardio and Yoga do work the legs. But I don’t know why they took this workout out of the lean program so early.

In Five days I can say "I have finished the P90X Lean Program with weight and inches lost!!” Then I’m moving On to the Classic Version with Plyometrics.  I also plan on upping my weight on the arm, chest & back workouts.  I’m going to push it this time.  So by summer I’ll be ready for my next Cruise!!

Now I’m off to watch biggest loser!! I love that show!! Then, X factor.

P90X one week left

I’m on day 83 of this Journey with only one week left!!  I almost quit the Lean Version and went straight into Classic.  But after some thought and advice from my coach I decided to finish it out.  Then I could say I did the 90 days J

My reason for starting P90X is because I love cruises. We went on a Caribbean cruise last year and I felt fat and out of shape. I wanted to tone and feel healthy again.

In doing this P90X lean program I have seen so much improvement and feel better than I have felt in a long time. My body can do things that I never felt were possible. In the beginning I wasn’t able to do most of the workouts. But day by day, week by week, month by month I was able to do more and more. I can do them all now!!! So I am ready to move onto the Classic Version.

I must also add that I am a 55 year old grandma and with the will and determination anything is possible. A lot of people say P90X is hard and it is in the beginning but with hard work and determination it can be done!

I love P90X it has become a lifestyle change for me. I also love my daily Shakeology. This has been a great addition to my daily diet. I continue to try and eat clean and have my Chocolate Shakeology daily!

Here are my measurements from the beginning. It has been an awesome Journey!!

July 2011 --- October 2011

Hip 39 --- Hip 37.5

Waist 37 --- Waist

Bust 38 --- Bust 37

Upper Leg 22.5 --- Upper Leg 21.5

Upper Arm 13 --- Upper Arm 12

Weight 154 --- Weight 147

Through this wonderful experience I have chose to become a Beachbody Coach. If you have any questions you may send me a private message at andersons7777@yahoo.com.

P90X Journey one more week!!!

Well here it is Saturday.  I have slacked some this week but I still got all my workouts in.  I did my Yoga X on Wednesday and then Core Synergistics on Thursday.  Today I will be doing Kenpo X.

Next week will be my Recovery Phase.  Then I’m done!!! I can say I have finished P90X Lean!!! Yea Me!!!

I know I have lost weight and inches.  I have toned a little.  I feel the classic version will do more on gaining muscle and toning which I plan on starting next.

Like I said before this is a lifestyle change.  I’m not perfect, I may miss some days, I may not eat clean all the time but I know its working and I will continue on this Journey.  Thanks to all who have followed me and encouraged me.  It has helped me to continue!!!

I’m off to LegoLand in Grapevine TX with my son and grandson on this beautiful day!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

P90X day 80

Yesterday I did Back, Biceps with Ab Ripper X. I used the band instead of the pull up bar in this workout. That seems to work best for me since I can’t do one pull up without using the chair.
I used the 10lb weights on the majority of the weighted exercises, but on a few I used 8lbs, with the exception of the seated shoulder flys I am still only using 5lbs for that one.

Ab Ripper X was a great workout. I can do all eleven moves, twenty five reps, making it a total of 339 moves.

I ate pretty clean yesterday. For breakfast I had my shakeology with peanut butter, lunch was salad and chicken. Then for dinner I had my favorite bean burritos.

Today is Yoga X.  As of today I have ten more days. Then I will have completed my Lean Version of P90X.

Have a Great Week!!

P90X day 78 & 79 done!

Friday I did my Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, Ab Ripper X workout.  Although the pushups in this workout have gotten easier and I am able to do more I still dislike it very much.  That could be why my arms are not as defined as they should be.  I think I give up to soon.

The Ab Ripper X  workout is great I am able to do all the moves without modifying and I know it’s working.

Today I did Cardio X.  This is a great Cardio workout and only 45 minutes long.  I was able to work up a great sweat and had a feeling of accomplishment.

I am sticking with the program to the end but I just don’t understand why they don’t have the legs & back workout for the last six weeks of the Lean Program.   I miss it and can feel the difference in my legs.  I’m anxious to start the Classic Program in 1 ½ weeks. J

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

P90X day 77 Kenpo X

I am 77 days into my 90 day Journey.  I have 13 days left.  How time flies when you’re having fun!!!

After going on a cruise this summer, I didn’t like the way I felt or the way I looked.   My goal was to eat clean and healthy and too tone.  I feel I have done that and the weight loss is good too.   I have lost 8lbs since I started.  I haven’t actually measured inches lost yet but I can feel a difference in the way my clothes are fitting.

Tonight was KenpoX.  I love Kenpo It’s a good cardio workout and goes by pretty fast!!  This workout seem easy to me now.  Looking at the P90X “Classic Program” I’m glad to see that I’ll continue to do Kenpo weekly when I finish this journey and go on to my next one.

I ate clean today.  I didn’t eat a lot which probably is not advised but...

I didn’t eat breakfast. L   For lunch I had my shakeology mixed with natural peanut butter and a banana.  Then, dinner was two of my favorite black bean burritos with morning star sausage, garlic, onion, rotel tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, some cumin and cayenne, sea salt & pepper.

I was craving chips at about 10:00 pm.  Even though they are natural chips I still decided against them!  I’m sure the wine made up for it though.

I have rest or Stretch tomorrow.  I might just start week 12.

Tomorrows Hump day, hope everyone’s having a great week!!

P90X Yoga X

Yoga X week eleven is done.  This was such a great workout this morning!! I never thought I’d be saying that on my first week or three weeks into P90X.   Yoga is a long ninety minute workout but it has gotten so easy.  I don’t need to look at the TV when doing it.  Tony explains everything in detail.  It’s like having your own coach in your workout room or living room.

I’ve even missed two days of working out this week and am able to do all the Yoga moves without modifying. J  I just started up where I left off.

Believing in this P90X workout and knowing that even if I miss a day I will continue on makes me confident in this lifestyle change!

I do need to work on my eating habits.  I tend to eat clean during the week but on weekends when getting together with friends and family it’s difficult not to cheat.

Tomorrow will be Core Synergistics!!

Have a Great weekend everyone!!!

P90X week eleven almost done!!!!

I’m Soooo tired this evening.  It’s been a long week!! The weekend can’t come soon enough!

I did my Cardio X on Tuesday and Shoulders, Arms and Ab Ripper X with my grandson last night.

I’m taking tonight off and doing my Yoga tomorrow!!  Tonight will be a cheat night at On The Border then we’re catching up on some X Factor and Survivor!!

I’ve eaten clean most the week with Eggs, Salad, Tuna Salad and Shakeology!!

Yea for Friday!!! Have a Great Day!!

Chest and Back P90X

Week Ten is done!!!

Tonight I started week eleven with Chest, Back and Ab Ripper X. I have not done this particular workout in over two weeks. I don’t think push-ups will ever be my favorite. I am able to do about ten now without modifying. So that’s some improvement.

Tomorrow will be Cardio X and I’m looking forward to it!!

I am also looking forward to finishing up this program and starting on the Classic Version. I’m anxious to start working the legs again and also doing the plyometrics.

Today was considered a cheat day…that’s all I’ll say about that. We need to go grocery shopping badly. My goal for this week is to eat clean the rest of the week. Well, with the exception of our Thursday night “Survivor” night.

Wishing you all a Great week.

P90X rest day

Today was my P90X rest day.  LOL!! But, we painted my son’s room, which needed two coats to cover his red walls.  We also painted the ceiling.  Sooooo I would say I got my workout in.

Tomorrow is week 11 Chest, Back and Ab ripper.  I actually have three weeks left.  I forgot about week 13 “recovery phase”.

Today I can actually say I ate clean all day.  Breakfast this morning was egg, cheese, onion and tomato omelet. For lunch I had salad with spinach leaves, olives, cucumbers and tomatoes. Dinner was my chocolate shakeology with natural peanut butter.  This evenings snack I had low fat popcorn.

Have a GREAT Week!!!

P90X Kenpo X

P90X Kenpo X week 10 done!! For those of you that don't know P90X
Here is an example of the Kenpo X moves.
I truely love this workout. It's quick and fun!!

Tomorrow is rest day and Monday I start week 11!!! Just two more weeks and my first journey is complete. Then I will start P90X Classic version!

P90X Core Synergistics week 10

This has been a beautiful week and I believe Autumn is in the air.  Whoohoo I love the Fall!! I’m looking forward to the cool, crisp, weather, the beautiful color changes, and the wonderful smells in the air. It’ll be great to get out there and run in the evenings again.  As for tonight though I will be doing Core Synergistics and I’m looking forward to it.

It has been a busy week for me so I have worked out about every other day!  But I continue to push play.

I still feel great and have lost about three pounds since the beginning.  I also went to the doctors last Saturday to have my blood work done.  Aside from my blood pressure and cholesterol being high everything looked good.  They did put me on blood pressure medicine but as far as my cholesterol goes I am working on that with diet and exercise.  It has gone down.

This is what my records show:

On 3/19/10

Cholesterol, total – 231

HDL Cholesterol – 71

LDL Cholesterol – 140

On 9/17/11

Cholesterol, total – 236

HDL Cholesterol – 86 (really good)

LDL Cholesterol – 129(gone down)

I’m not sure why the total is higher but my HDL and LDL has improved.  I believe that exercise and shakeology has contributed to these numbers.

So I’m not going on cholesterol medicine yet and going to continue my P90X and clean eating journey and hopefully these numbers will continue to improve.

Wishing everyone a great weekend!!

P90X Yoga X

P90X Yoga X

I am currently in my tenth week of P90X Lean program!  In only a couple more weeks I’ll be done with round one.  After my 90 days I plan on starting over and doing the P90X Classic program.  I am looking forward to this.  It is a little harder and has plyometrics as opposed to cardio X.

This has been a lifestyle change for me.  Even if I miss a night or two I just do the workout when I can.  I try to do it six nights a week but sometimes life gets busy and I have to miss a night. It doesn’t mean I quit.  I just continue on the next night with the one I missed, or I may switch up a rest day.

Last night I did my Yoga X and as I’ve said before “I have grown to love this workout”.  I remember in the beginning of this journey I hated Yoga.  I think it was because the moves were so hard.  Now ten weeks later I can do the moves.  It just amazes me how I can do moves that I never thought were possible.

I am also starting to see definition in my arms and legs. Which is a plus!!

Tonight I should be doing core synergistics but I’m saving that for tomorrow since it’s our Thursday night with friends and “Survivor”.

Have a Great Friday!!!

P90X Back & Biceps, Ab Ripper

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!  We really enjoyed our time with the family and football.  Yea Cowboys!!!

I didn’t work out yesterday but did my Back & Biceps, AbRipper today.  I’m on week ten, day three, and this is the first time this particular workout is in the “Lean Program”.  It is in the “Classic Program” a few more times.  I enjoyed it so I look forward to doing it in my next 90 day journey when I move from “Lean” to the “Classic Program” with plyometrics.

I’m using 10lb weights on the weighted exercises and still using the chair for pull-ups.  I really don’t enjoy pull-ups or push-ups.  I think those are just men exercises.

But, I do feel confident that my arms are getting stronger!!

I just had coffee for breakfast this morning.  Which I know is not healthy.  For lunch I had my shakeology and dinner was shrimp and salad.

My next workout is Yoga X which probably won’t be until Wednesday.

Have a Wonderful week!!

Today included church, family and football. So I am counting today as a rest day.

Tomorrow will be Back & Biceps, Ab Ripper X

See you then~

P90X Chest, shoulders, Triceps & Ab Ripper X week 10

Tonight’s busy evening included dinner, dishes, homework with grandson, visiting with my son’s friend who had just returned from a mission trip (haven’t seen him in two years J, laundry, and work-out!!

People say it’s hard to find the time to work out!! That is so true but you just have to make the time.  Either morning or evening workouts work best.  My workouts have always been in the evening, mostly because I am not a morning person.

Tonight’s workout was Chest, Shoulders, Triceps & Ab Ripper X.  I am finally feeling comfortable with this workout.  I was able to do push-ups and keep up with Laura.  I basically follow her and am able to do what she does.  I notice she doesn’t go down too far in her push-ups.  So I am able to copy her moves.  Thanks Laura!!!

Breakfast today was grapes and strawberries; Lunch was school popcorn chicken, spinach and dessert which were a mixture of pineapple, peaches, and marshmallows.
On good note I didn’t get the roll or mashed potatoes.  Then dinner was left over split pea soup.

I’ll be done with this Journey of P90X lean version in 3 weeks but this time I’m not quitting.  I’ll be starting a new Journey.  I’m going to do the Classic version of P90X next.

Whoohoo tomorrow is Friday!! I’m looking forward to a wonderful weekend with the family!! Have a great weekend everyone!

P90X Core Synergistics and Kenpo X week 9

Core Synergistics done.  I’ve gotten better on this one but it’s still not one of my favorites.  I feel my arms getting stronger with the push-ups but those are the worst part of this workout.  I do like the Lunge & Reach and the Lunge Kickback Curl Press.

I ate pretty clean yesterday. For breakfast I had Quaker oatmeal, Lunch was salad and dinner last night was shrimp stir-fry with red beans & rice and salad.

Tonight I did Kenpo X one of my favorites.  Week 9 is done!!!  Whoohoo!!

Today’s meals were oatmeal for breakfast, salad with peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and ranch dressing for lunch and split pea soup with smoked turkey for dinner!!

Tomorrow is rest night and SURVIVOR PREMIER.  It’ll probably be a cheat meal with great friends!!

Have a great hump day J

P90X Yoga X Week 9 Day 60

I’m 60 days in and feel GREAT!!!  I really do like the Yoga X now that I’m finally able to do all the moves with no modification.  This is a great workout and stretches every part of your body.  I can’t emphasize enough what your body can do over time.  I never thought I would be able to do the Right-Angle Pose to Extended Right-Angle Pose& Grab, or put my palm on the floor and do the half moon, Also the  Plough into Shoulder Stand with Leg Variations into Plough but I’m doing it all.

I’ve lost two pounds last week!! I’m also noticing my waist shrinking. My pants are definitely not as tight.

Tomorrow is Core Synergistics!!

Have a Great week & Go Cowboys!!!!

P90X Cardio X week 9

I love, love, love Cardio X!!!  It is such a fun workout.  The time seems to fly by and you work up a good sweat.   This workout has a little bit of everything.  There’s some Yoga, Kenpo, Plyo and ending with Abs.  Cardio X is a combination of all these P90X exercises but is filmed as its own workout and it’s only about 45 minutes long.

My diet was semi-clean yesterday.  I actually had no breakfast which was not a good thing.  Lunch included a turkey sandwich with fruit.  After work I had peanut/jelly on wheat with some corn chips and our treat last night was pizza!!!  Oddly enough I was down a lb this morning.  I guess I burned some calories with Cardio!!

Today will be Shoulders, Arms & Ab Ripper X.  Then some much need Cleaning!!

Have a Great Day!!

P90X Chest, Back and Ab Ripper X

I have made it to week 9 in my P90X Journey whoohoo!  With that being said Chest and back is still not one of my favorite workouts.  In fact I think it is my least favorite!!!! I just don’t like pushups, maybe it’s because I have a hard time doing them.  I can still only do about 7 then I use my knees.

In doing the lean program I have noticed that there is no Legs workout for the rest of the program (the next four weeks).  I was disappointed when I noticed this because legs is one of my favorite workouts.  I do work the legs in kenpo, cardio & yoga but I need the “legs/back” workout to work my legs specifically.   I may switch back/chest for legs/back.

I have four more weeks then I have finished my 90 day workout.  I think this time when I finish I’m going to move on to the Classic version of P90X.  It’s a little harder and instead of cardio I’ll be doing plyo.

My eating has not been totally clean… I had my peanut butter in shakeology for breakfast, Chicken rings, wheat roll, broccoli & cheese for lunch (school lunch) and tuna salad for dinner.

Until tomorrow’s Cardio!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

P90X Yoga X week 8

We had a tremendously big weekend. We went to a wedding in Amarillo which is about a seven hour drive from Fort Worth and there’s not much to look at!!! For lunch I had a vegetable/spinach salad from Subway.  It was Awesome.  Then of course dinner was at the wedding which was definitely not clean eating. But, it was soooo good.  We headed home the next morning which made for a quick trip.  We stopped at Cracker Barrel for brunch and I ordered the healthy breakfast with wheat toast instead of the muffin and turkey sausage.

On the way home we stopped at Palo Duro Canyon which was beautiful!!! Check out the beautiful pictures.

Then for Dinner we stopped at a Mexican Restaurant in Wichita Falls, I think it was El Chico.  This was definitely a cheat meal including a couple Margaritas.  We arrived home about 10:30 last night.

I was just a tad tired at work today so when I got home I took about a thirty minute nap then did my Yoga X.  It seemed long this time around but am glad I did it!!!

This marks the end of week eight!!!! Since I’ve already had a rest night I’m going straight into my 9th week tomorrow with chest, back and Ab ripper x!!

I’m continuing to push play and going to try and eat clean the rest of the week.

Have a Great week!!

P90X Recovery Phase week 8

X Stretch and Cardio X done!!!  I had plans yesterday (date night with my husband) so I did X Stretch this morning and Cardio X this evening with my grandson.  It’s so much fun working out with a little 8 year old.   Then we enjoyed Alice in Wonderland together!  Of course he crashed in the middle of the Movie.

We’re heading to Amarillo for a wedding tomorrow so my last workout of the Recovery Phase Yoga X will have to be on Monday.  Like I’ve said before if you miss a day it’s no big deal just push play the next day.
I enjoyed my Shakeology today mixed with banana and natural peanut butter for breakfast, Lunch was salad with peppers, cucumbers, olives and tomatoes and dinner was left over chicken tortillas.  For a snack during our movie we had celery with peanut butter.

I have started a New Phase in this P90X Journey I'm on.  I have decided to become a Beachbody coach  so if anyone has any questions about beachbody workouts, dvds, shakeology or the diet plan please don't hesitate to ask.

Have a Safe Labor Day weekend!

My P90X Conviction

Wow this has been a busy week and it’s going to be an even busier weekend.  That being said I have continued to do my workouts and push play.

We all have a life and some of us are busier than others.  But what I have learned in this Journey is to never quit!!!!

If I’m tired I push myself to hit play.  Once I get started on the workout I’m fine and in the end glad I did it.  That is a much better feeling than sitting there saying “I should have done my workout”.  It is sooooo easy to skip it.  Believe me!!  If I was to skip a workout too many times it would be harder to get back into it.  There are days I may have plans and miss my workout.  But that doesn’t mean I quit.  It’s only one workout.  I can make it up the following night and do.

I have made a lifestyle change.  Which means this is for life!  I’m never quitting.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!!

P90X Recovery Phase Week 8

This is the beginning Week 8 Recovery Phase!!!  I can’t believe I’m almost two months in.  What a Great workout it has been.  I have committed myself and kept with it almost every night.  If I missed a night I made up for it the next night.
I have been trying to eat clean 4 out of seven days a week and have lost 4lbs since the beginning. I love the fact that my clothes are fitting better also.

The workouts were so hard my first week.  But it’s amazing what the body can do.  I would have never thought two months ago that I can do the workouts I can do today.  I will not stop working out.  I can see now how difficult it was to get where I am today.  But I’m here and going to continue to go forward.

I remember in the beginning how I used to hate the Yoga.  I didn’t look forward to it at all.  It was too long and the moves were so hard.  Well today I did Yoga X.  I can sincerely say not only did I enjoy it but I am able to do all the moves almost as well as Tony and his crew.  Sure I wish I had the muscles they have but I believe that will come in time.

My meals today were clean.  For breakfast I had my chocolate shakeology.  I went to Sonic for lunch and ordered the grilled chicken wrap which I believe is considered clean.

P90X Kenpo X Week Seven

Today has been a big day.  It has also been a hard day.  We moved my brother-in-law into a convalescent home today.  He is my husband’s brother and only 63 years old.  He had a stroke last year and lost feeling on his right side.  My husband has taken this real hard and sees himself in his brother.  They are 10 years apart but very close.  After a long day of lunch, moving, shopping, unpacking and visiting we headed home.  I made dinner, did my Kenpo X workout and now I’m chilling thanking God for my blessings.

I’m so glad this was my Kenpo X night.  It is a great cardio workout.  With it being my favorite it went by fast.  It is also one of the shorter workouts on P90X.

My meals were clean today.  For breakfast I had my Shakeology.  For lunch I had a tuna sandwich on wheat, salad, and mixed fruit. They had great food at the convalescent home.  Then for dinner I got a recipe from a fellow blogger.  It’s called Zucchini Fajitas.  They were so good, thank you Miriam!!

Have a great week everyone!!

P90X Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X, Week Seven

This has been my first week back to work and boy am I tired. But, I’m very proud to say that I came home after work and did my workout every day with the exception of Thursday. I did my Thursday’s Yoga X on Friday. It doesn’t matter if you miss a day just continue to hit play.

Today I did Legs, Back & Ab Ripper X. This is a great workout. I have noticed so much improvement with legs and back. I have a hard time with the three way lunge. I can do it, just slower than they do. As far as Ab ripper goes, I pushed right through it. I just kept thinking its only 15 minutes!!!

I’m almost done with week seven!!! I’ll do Kenpo X tomorrow. Then it’s on to my Recover Phase!!

My diet today was great. I had my Chocolate shakeology mixed with a teaspoon of peanut butter for brunch and bean burritos for dinner!

Have a great weekend!!

P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, Ab Ripper X, Week Seven

I am already half-way through week seven. How time flies when you're having fun!!! I got started on my workout early today. Right when I got home from work I put in my Chest, Shoulders & Triceps DVD. This is another one that is not one of my favorites. I have upped my weights from 5lbs to 8lbs on the weighted exercises with two exceptions..the "weighted circles" and the "pour flys" those are still 5lb weights. As far as the push-ups go I'm doing my best and forgetting the rest. I can do from 5 to 7 pushups. I still cannot do the "clap push-ups", "one arm push-ups", or the one arm "balance push-ups". But I am trying.

My eating today was clean! Breakfast was a blueberries and banana. For lunch I had a spinach leaf salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives & ranch dressing and for dinner I had a tuna/cheese melt on tortilla.

Hope everyone had a good hump day. Have a great rest of the week!!

P90X Core Synergistics Week Seven

It has been a busy last couple days. I went back to work on Monday so needless to say the days have been long. Yesterday I got out of work at 4:00, went to the store, cooked dinner, ate, worked out and before you knew it, it was 8:00 and I was ready for bed.

Last nights work out was Core Synergistics. It is getting easier but still not one of my favorite workouts. I am seeing improvement though. I still cannot do the Plank to Chatarunga Run or the reach high and under push ups. This is definitely a core workout and that’s where I need it the most so I’m pushing as hard as I can.

Tonight was Cardio X which is one of my favorites. I was going to switch this workout with plyo but decided to wait since I just started back to work. I think this is one of the shortest workouts in the program. It seems to fly by.

Last night I also made an awesome potato salad. I wish I could take credit for it but it's from one of my fellow bloggers. I wish I could remember which one..I copied and pasted the recipe but don't remember where I got it from. Anyway here's the recipe.

Snap Potato Salad
This new twist on everyone's old favorite, potato salad, combines small, delicate new potatoes with crisp green sugar snap peas for a delectable contrast in flavors and textures.
• 2 lbs. new potatoes, unpeeled, scrubbed
• ¼ lb. sugar snap peas
• ½ red bell pepper, cored, seeded, and chopped
• 1 stalk celery, finely diced
• ½ cup light mayonnaise
• ¼ cup plain nonfat yogurt
• 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
• ½ tsp. dried dill (or 2 tsp. minced fresh dill)
• ¼ tsp. salt
Place potatoes in a large saucepan. Cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cook potatoes until tender. Drain, remove from pan, and cool to room temperature. While potatoes are cooling, put a medium saucepan of water on to boil. Trim sugar snap peas by pulling off the tips and removing the "string" that runs along the side of each pod. Blanch pea pods in boiling water for about 4 minutes (they should be cooked but still crisp), drain, run under cold water, and drain again. Cut potatoes in half and place in a large bowl, then add pea pods, bell pepper, and celery to the bowl of potatoes. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, yogurt, mustard, dill, and salt. Pour over potatoes and veggies and toss to mix well. Cover and chill until serving time. (Best eaten on the same day you make it.) Serves 8.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes (plus chilling time)

P90X Kenpo X Week Six

I love this workout!!! Love, love, love Kenpo X!!
The stretches at the beginning didn’t feel so bad.  I was able to keep up with the entire workout and man did I sweat!!

Week six done!! Tomorrow I start Week 7 with Core Synergistics!  I can’t believe I’ve made it this far!!

Here are a few quotes from Tony Horton in this workout:

“I’m 45 going on 46 I don’t believe in aging. Aging whatever, got your aging right here”  “I believe in moving and eating good”.

“Take care of your body and it will take care of you”.

For breakfast I had a scrambled egg omelet which included red bell pepper, onions, cheddar cheese yummy.  I’m going to try and eat clean the rest of the day!!

Have a great week everyone.

P90X Legs, Back & Ab Ripper X week 6

Well this weekend has been a busy weekend so my diet and exercise have not been great.  We went out to dinner and dancing with friends last night so I’ll consider that my cheat meal.  Today my son and I went out for an Italian brunch which makes another cheat!!!
Believe me Both of those were worth the cheat!!

I did not do my legs, back and ab ripper last night but it’s not a total loss because I did it today and I will do my Kenpo tomorrow which was suppose to be my rest day.

Legs and back was a great workout.  As I’ve said before, sneaky lunges are my favorite.  I think I love them so much because I can do them perfect and feel the burn so I know they’re working.  Not to say I don’t feel the burn on the others.  Wall squats and chair salutations have always been hard but I can do them both now the total time required.

This has been my best ab ripper x workout to date!!  The bicycles, forward and reverse 25 done whoohoo.  Even the Fifer scissors I was able to 25 whoohoo!!

On a side note.  My son is going to be in the Cowboys Half-time show with his Mavericks Cheer Team tomorrow night!!!!

P90X Week Six, Day Four, Yoga X

Today was Meet the Teacher night at school.  I'm an aide so we were serving hotdogs, chips, and drinks, until about 7:30pm  for relay for life. I got home about 8:00.  But when I walked in the door I still pressed Play.

Whoohoooo for P90X, Yoga X!!! I hate it but I Love it!!! This is Week Six, Day four Yoga X.  I have grown to love this workout.  Even though it’s long there is such a feeling of peace and accomplishment when I’m done.   The moves feel great and I am able to do them all with the exception of crane.  I promise I will try it next week.
Tony Horton gets on some peoples nerves with his talking, but I love it.  He always has the right thing to say at the right time.  It seems like when he says to adjust or move a certain way I need that! He's also very encouraging.

This video is Great!! It is Tony Horton talking about Yoga X

P90X Week 6 Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, Ab Ripper X

P90X Week 6 Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, Ab Ripper X

This evening was week 6 Chest, Shoulders, Triceps & Ab Ripper X.  Finally, Finally, Finally I am able to do more than 5 pushups lol.  “Real pushups” after that I modify (doing from knees).  The clap pushups and one arm pushups are still too hard.  But, it is working and it feels great! On the other exercises I have raised my weights from 5lbs to 8lbs and am able to do at least 8 to 10 reps.  The exceptions are Pour Flyes which I use 5lbs and weighted circles I don’t use any weight at all.

Ab Ripper X is also coming along.  Reverse bicycles were easier tonight.  I was able to do 20.  Ab Ripper in general has gotten easier.  I keep telling myself I will never quit!! It is toooo hard to start over.

I have linked some of these workouts to different pages so you can see what exercises are included.

We made it through hump day.  Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!
