P90X Week 3 Done!!!

Wow it’s been a busy last couple of days in this Texas heat!!! We’ve been out there having a garage sale on Friday and Saturday from dawn to dusk.  You want to talk about tired WOW!!!! I did come home on Friday and do my Legs, Back and Ab Ripper.  Ab Ripper was harder for me this time.  I believe my diet may have had something to do with it.  Being out in the sun and snacking probably hasn’t helped.  Then after a long day in the heat again yesterday I came home and did my Kenpo X which I know is one of my favorites but those leg stretches in the beginning hurt pretty bad, maybe because I worked my legs so hard the previous night.  I am starting to see some definition in my legs which feels good.  My husband also says he could tell the difference.  So I guess it starting to work.  I just need to watch my diet and have healthy snacks. 
Today is rest day and next week is The Recovery Phase Whoohoo!! Although I may add abs in that week since that’s where I need the work the most.

P90X Shoulders, Arms & Ab Ripper X week 3

It feels so Great when you're done with a workout...The sweat..The Pain..The feeling of Accomplishment!!!!  I love it!! Yes today was Shoulders and Arms my favorite, I worked it!! My least favorite in this workout is Chair Dips, Flip-Grip Twist Tricep Kickbacks and Side Tri-Rises. I did them all and was able to raise my weight.  Then, on to Ab Ripper X.  There is noticeable improvement here also.  I am pushing myself and am over twenty on all except fifer scissors.  I also push myself on the mason twists at the end!!! It hurts soooo good! 
My daily breakfast has been Chocolate Shakeology mixed with a teaspoon of peanut butter.   Thanks to Casey & Jon for the peanut butter tip.  It's sooo good!! I have been trying to eat clean for the most part and drinking lots of water.  Looking forward to tomorrows YOGA Yeah...

Core Synergistics for week three is still hard!!  On a good note the banana rolls are getting much easier!! But for the push ups I am following "Pam the Blam and modifying.  I guess my arms are not strong enough yet.  Today is Cardio X!  I'm Ready!!!!

Rest Sunday

Today was Stretch X or Rest..Well I chose Rest. I had a wonderful family day celebrating 3 July birthdays. My husband's, my son's, and my daughter-in-law's birthday are all in July. We had a wonderful dinner then showed videos of everyone's summer vacation. With my daughter-in-law being a vegetarian. I made two different eggplant lasagnas. I changed hers up a bit. Please check my recipies for ingredients. I'll have that page up soon.
Tomorrow it's back to Core Synergistics!!!!

P90X week two done!!!

With it being Saturday I started my workout early. I can actually say Kempo X is now one of my favorites. It's amazing what a difference one week makes. I made it through the entire workout with no modification!!!
I remember how hard the jumping jacks were during the break. Now I can do 30 including the X jumps. Tomorrow is rest or stretch. I think I may do a few miles on the treadmill. Again, thank you all for your support and I hope with this I can influence other people. Have a great Saturday!!!

Week two almost done!!

Tonight was Legs, Back & Ab Ripper X!! This workout is about 1hr and 15min. abs included. Doing legs was so much easier this time around. The first time my legs shook all the way through. I was able to push a little harder tonight with less shaking and very little modifying. As far as back goes I don't have a pull-up bar anymore. My son took it when he moved out, so I used weights. The ab workout is also getting easier. I tell myself if I can just do 20 instead of 25 for each move then I've done good. I was able to do 20 on all but "fifer scissors". Those are tough, I did 15! Tomorrow is Kemp X and week two will be done!!!
Woohoo!!! I can't believe two weeks have already gone by. I will not stop pressing play. And, I will continue to "Do My Best and Forget The Rest!!!

Yoga Done!

After a full day with family and friends I did come home this evening and press play!! I must admit it was hard. I would have rather played a game or watched a movie with my husband and grandson. But my grandson joined me again this evening and did the entire 1 1/2 hours. We now have a feeling of accomplishment. I know he felt it too even at 8 years old.
My diet was not great today. We went to TGIF's today for Brunch and I tried being good. I ordered the Key West Shrimp which after looking up the nutrition doesn't seem too bad.

Shoulders, Arms & Ab Ripper X my favorite!

I really enjoy Shoulder & Arms P90X!! I enjoy it even more when my 8 year old grandson does it with me!  It was his bed time but Aidyn said "Mimi I want to work out with you".  Well I thought he'd maybe last about 15 minutes and be done.  Was I wrong he lasted through the whole workout and even did abs.  Which I must say are still extremely hard! I told him he may hurt a little tomorrow but he's young and resilient so probably not.  Another day down.  It is getting easier but I'm still modifying a bit.  Tomorrow is Yoga. I'll have to start earlier for that one. Night all..

Cardio X week two was much easier!!!

Well since there's only two of us home now we had last nights leftovers with a bit of a twist! Just add some shredded cheddar cheese, organic corn chips and jalapenos, heat in the microwave and wala!!


On a second note I did my Cardio X tonight and I must say that is my 2nd favorite workout.  It seemed to be so much easier this week.  Aside from this nagging pain I had in my right side. But, It's done!  Now time for a glass of wine and a good movie!!

Core Synergistics!!!! Done!!

Week 2, day 1 Core Synergistics done!! I must say my legs and butt are still killing me!! There is alot of Banana rolls and push ups in Core synergistics, which is very hard for me!  I know this will get easier. 

This was dinner this evening:  It was good.  I liked it better in a tortilla!  Here we have:  1 cup uncooked brown rice. two cans of black beans, two cans of rotel diced tomatoes with cilantro, one small red onion,  three cloves garlic, one tsp oregano, tsp cumin, handful fresh cilentro.  Enjoy

Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers

And then there are those not so good for you!!!! Jalapeno peppers stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon....yes I had a couple...notice the ones without bacon those were mine!!

Day 6 is done!!! Week one is done!! Sunday is rest or stretch day. I'm not sure at the moment what I'll do. I know that I can barely sit down or get up from a seated position without my legs and butt killing me. I guess it's working. Again thank you all for your support!!

p90x day 5 cont.

Legs, Back, & Ab ripper!!! uuggghhh is all I can say. Oh and this is my least favorite workout. I think I hate the wall squats the most. I know it will get easier but...The abs were also hard this evening. I can't quite do 25 on them all. My diet wasn't great today. I had shakeology this morning. Then On Border BBQ Jalapeno Salmon for lunch. I thought that was a healthy choice. It has 96% Fiber which is great but the carbs and sodium was a little high for me.

P90X day 5

Well I did my Yoga last night!! It's a little long 1 1/2 hours but such a feeling of accomplishment when you're done!! I also love Tony Horton and the way he walks you through it.  You don't even have to be looking at the tv to know what to do.  Tonight is Legs, back, Ab ripper X oh boy..I'm off to On The Border for Lunch.  I hope they have something clean to eat!!!!

Vegetarian Stuffed Peppers


Tonights dinner came out real tasty!!
The recipe is:
4 Peppers
1/2 onion
8oz. vegetarian sausage
3/4 cup brown rice about 1 1/2 cups cooked
1tblsp. Cayenne pepper
2 1/2 cups garlic & herb sauce
topped with mild cheddar cheese.

P90X for today is done!! I had my Shakeology for breakfast. Then...went to Olive Garden for Lunch and had the soup and salad. I Felt I couldn't go too wrong with that!! :) I had the Minestrone soup. Although I did have one breadstick. For Dinner I made stuffed peppers. I feel it was a decent diet day!

I've been looking online for people doing P90X today so I can get some insentive..some push..Most the sites or blogs date back to 2009 or 2010 and are not current!! Made it through day 2 yea me!!!! I had my banana, watermelon,blueberry cherry,cantelope fruit salad for breakfast.  For my work out today I did Cardio X which is day 2's work out in the Lean program.  This was pretty tough although again I made it through!  For Lunch I had my Chocolate Shakeology drink which is Awesome.  I went on with my day...Then, for dinner I made bean burritos which included kidney beans, black beans, onion, pepper, tomatoes with a few other ingredients.  I am making progress by the scale this morning I lost 1.5 lbs.

July 11, 2011 - Core Synergistics

I’m on summer break from school where I am an elementary aide.  I am having a great summer to say the least!! My husband and I took my youngest, who just graduated this year, and a friend of his on a seven day cruise.  We had the time of our lives.  Well, if you know how cruises are, there is food everywhere you go. So, we ate and ate and ate. 

About 2 years ago I bought the P90X Extreme Home Fitness Dvd.  I was so excited!! I did the 90 day Classic work out and felt real good.  I pressed play everyday and kept with it.  I remember telling my grandson I’ve got to work out and him asking me “Mimi what happens if you don’t do the workout?"  Well I’ve found the answer and it doesn’t take long for your clothes to get tight, the tire around the middle comes back, you don’t have as much energy and you just don’t feel as good. 

I know there are other Tony Horton dvd’s and follow ups out there but I didn’t look into it.  I didn’t do any major workout after that.  I worked out on the treadmill every now and then.  But really nothing major.  My eating habits also changed. 

Well today I’m here to tell you that I’m back on track!!! This is day one of my P90X.  I am doing this so I am held accountable.  I hope people are with me on this.  The last time I did the Classic workout.  This time I’m trying the Lean program.  I just finished doing the Core Synergistics.  Which I must admit after a year it was hard but I did the best I could with some modification. 

 
I really want to stick with this and accept all the help I can get.
