Continuing my Journey! Slim in 6 / 21 Day Fix!

Here we are starting our third week of February.  The weather in Texas has finally gotten nice.  I think it will be in the 70's today!!  :)   My husband and I went hiking at a local community center yesterday and it felt so good to be out in the beautiful sunshine.

In my last post I had mentioned that I would be starting my "21 Day Fix" when I finished my six weeks of "Slim in 6".  Well, because of the overwhelming response to this program they have had a backup in orders.  I should be receiving my "21 Day Fix"  by March 1st and I  plan on starting a "Fix"  accountability group then.  If you're interested in joining me contact me Sharon Ferone Anderson on fb or Twitter.

Slim in 6 "Burn It Up" is still a challenge to me!! I am working up a great sweat and feeling the pain! I am still losing weight and inches.  Currently I have lost a total of 8 pounds and 5 inches since January 1st. Being a 57 year old mother/mimi I am not physically or mentally perfect.  I have my imperfections and flaws but I cannot emphasize how much better I feel since the first of the year!  With me working out 5/6 times a week, eating right, (which includes my morning shakeology), and getting 6/7 hours sleep a night, I am mentally and physically stronger.

I am also thankful for my online Food, Focus, Fitness group!  This group has done so much to keep me accountable.  We are working hard to achieve our goals by  checking in daily with our food, water intake, and workouts which also helps to keep us all motivated.

Food, Focus, Fitness

Burrr, It's still cold here in TX!! I'm ready for summer.  Then again don't bring out the swimsuits just yet!  I'll be ready in a few months :)

As I said in my last post this is my year!!  I am currently in my last couple weeks of Beachbody's Slim in 6.  So far so good!!  I have been consistent with my workouts, eating, and water intake.  As of today I have lost 6 lbs. and 5 total inches.  I am Excited!!

I am still a member of my original Facebook accountability group but, have also branched out on my own.  My group is called "Food, Fitness, Focus.  Like my original group we have daily tasks and daily check-ins with our accountability.  

When I complete my Slim in 6 I will be starting a "21 Day Fix" group which is a fitness and nutrition program that helps you lose 6-15 pounds in 21 days. Each workout is about 30 minutes a day seven days a week.  The nutrition plan uses portioned food storage containers.  There's no weighing, measuring or calorie counting.  The best part is there is no food that is off limits.

My 2014 health & fitness journey

Well here we almost at the end of January 2014.  Has everyone kept up with their New Years Resolutions?  I am proud to say that I have!!! I have been eating right, drinking right and working out.  This is my year!!  

Today will be day 21 of my Slim in 6, Beachbody workout.  With my consistency and accountability I have lost 5 lbs. and a total of 4 inches since the first of the year.  Also, my legs and arms are getting toner.  I am so proud of myself!!

I have been a part of an online accountability group where we check in daily on how we did with our diet and exercise.  I can't emphasize how much being a part of a accountability group helps.  It's is fun being with others who have the same commitment and goals not to mention meeting new friends.

February 1st, I will be starting my own accountability group,  This is an online group where people wanting to achieve their health and fitness goals get together and share.  It is a private group.  There will be simple tasks given daily and you will check in with your workouts, water intake, and diet for the day.  There is also a prize given at the end of each month.

Slim In 6 Day 15

My Journey for this year has continued in a good way!! I have been consistent with my Slim in 6 workouts and it has gotten easier.

This program consists of three DVDs.  The first dvd is "Start It Up" a 30 minute moderate intense workout.  For this first week Debbie Siebers introduces the strength and cardio moves.  You continue to "Ramp It Up" a 45 minute workout for the second and third weeks, and then "Burn It Up" a 60 minute workout for the last three weeks.   This program uses resistant bands and dumbbells for the strength training and targets your arms, hips, thighs, and abs.

I am currently in the second phase the "Ramp It Up" dvd and in only fifteen days I have lost three pounds and a total of three inches.  My main reason for this workout is to tone and I am already noticing some toning and difference in the way my clothes are fitting.

Tonight I start the last phase which is "Burn It Up".  I know this is going to be harder, but I am looking forward to the Challenge.

My goal is to finish this program then move on to P90X, continue to drink 60/70 oz of water daily and eat clean.

This is a lifestyle change for me!

2014 New Beginnings

This is the year!!! 
If you have read my blog I am a 57 year old mother of four boys and a ten year old grandson. I have been married for 33 years and love my husband dearly.  I have been fairly healthy most my life but since I retired a year ago my weight has exceeded my desires.  Being 20lbs over the average weight for my height has made me feel lazy, tired, fat, undesireable, embarrassed, and totally blah!!! I basically go day to day and don't have the desire or energy to do anything. 
I have continued to do Slim in 6 but with the holidays the last few months I have slacked.  Starting January 1st I began my new journey.  Thanks to my coach Casey Beard and our group I have been checking in daily with my challenge group, eating clean, drinking my shakeology, working out with Slim in 6, and drinking 1/2 my body weight in oz of water daily.
My goal is to be down at least 10lbs by July and hopefully be toned enough to get into a swimsuit without being embarrassed!!
It starts today!!!
